— Gordon Brown chatting in the bar at Quill in the Jefferson Hotel Thursday evening. With three other men, seemed to be a business gathering — no visible cocktails, didn’t stay long — though it does seem to be a favorite meeting spot of his. The former UK prime minister, now a United Nations special envoy for global education, seems to be in town for UNESCO meetings.

— Rahm Emanuel dining at Rasika West Thursday night with a man and a woman. Dressed down, blue Oxford shirt. The Chicago mayor appeared to be arriving late in town, after thunderstorms in the Midwest delayed flights and forced the postponement of a Q&A he was scheduled to do at the Atlantic that morning.
