MC Hammer resurfaced again in Washington Tuesday night, and now we know what he’s doing here. A lot of stuff, it seems.

We couldn’t quite place what the hip-hop legend was doing here when he was spotted Sunday night dining with Silicon Valley investor Ron Conway, but last night he was on more familiar turf: At a Washington Capitals game. Back in January he caused a minor sensation when he took time off the inauguration celebrity circuit to drop in on Verizon Center — turns out he’s a major ice hockey fame. On Tuesday night, he was back to see the Caps beat Winnipeg to clinch the division title. He was a guest of team co-owner Raul Fernandez, along with Sen. Tim Kaine — a gathering captured on the Jumbotron, above. Fernandez told us Hammer has become a friend, since performing at last year’s Fight Night charity fundraiser, which Fernandez chairs, and doing some promos for the Caps. This week’s visit, though, was organized around a celebvocacy lobbying effort for gun control, we’re told. (More photos at DC Sports Bog: MC Hammer at the Caps game)
