Prince Harry arrives in Washington tomorrow

UPDATED, Thursday afternoon: Okay, he’s finally here — happy now? Not a lot happening yet, but we’ve got a report: He’s here! Prince Harry arrives in Washington

* * *

Prince Harry arrives in Washington tomorrow to kick off his seven-day visit of the U.S. What will this mean for all you aspiring princesses? Basically, nothing: Expect the spare-to-the-heir to maintain a very controlled schedule at a series of elite ceremonial events you can’t get into.

On Thursday, he’ll start by touring a Capitol Hill exhibit on landmine clearance — a favorite issue of his late mother — before attending a small private reception at the British ambassador’s residence and an ever-more small and private dinner party. On Friday, he’ll visit Arlington National Cemetery and Walter Reed — and then, already, it will be time to jet off to his next stops in Colorado. Harry will circle back east early next week for appearances in New Jersey, New York City and Connecticut.

It’s exactly a year since he was last in D.C. for 24 hours of humanitarian appearances and awards dinners.
