RGIII’s new house: Lots of marble, room for a pool, friends nearby

Okay, what more can we tell you about Robert Griffin III’s new Loudoun County palace?

Sad to report that there is no pool — yet. But there seems to be space out back for one, if the new homeowner is so inclined — the developer even offered a possible schematic. (Please check out the photo gallery and video tour if you haven’t already: Lots of marble and wainscoting.)

He’ll have a less than half-hour commute to the team training facility in Ashburn — and probably a lot of friends nearby: Santana Moss, London Fletcher, DeAngelo Hall and Chris Cooley are among the Redskins who have made their homes in the greater Leesburg area. (By one recent estimate, roughly 70 percent of players and team employees live in Loudoun County, though a few mavericks, including Clinton Portis and Donovan McNabb, jumped the Fairfax County line to Great Falls.)

Nice place for a wedding? Alas, Griffin and fiancee Rebecca Liddicoat have chosen to have their July nuptials in Denver, head coach Mike Shanahan divulged this week. That’s where the bride’s family is from.
