All this talk yesterday about the best-looking people in Washington seems kind of small-town when you realize that one of our own has been called up to the big leagues!
Okay, sure, Ronan Farrow isn’t exactly a Washingtonian anymore — but he might be the only recent State Department staffer to make Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed List. The 25-year-old son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen left town last year for a Rhodes Scholarship, and his thoughts on fashion, as highlighted by VF, don’t betray much influence from Beltway style.
His favorite item of clothing? “A simple leather jacket. . . has gotten me through cocktail parties in New York and cold nights in Afghanistan.” Favorite place to shop? “Inexpensive tailoring towns like Islamabad, where you can find talented craftspeople to make just about anything for a song.” Somehow, Pentagon City Mall doesn’t get mentioned.
