Shemane Nugent, Ted Nugent’s wife, arrested at airport for gun in her luggage

Shemane Nugent, the wife of singer and National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent, was arrested Thursday afternoon at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport after security discovered a handgun in her carry-on luggage. Airport spokesman David Magana confirmed to The Dallas Morning News that Nugent, 51, was taken into custody by the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety. David Finn, Nugent’s attorney, said this was “an honest mistake” and that she “completely forgot or never knew the weapon was in her bag.” According to Finn, Nugent faces a $2,000 fine.
