Spike Lee is being sued by the couple he falsely identified as living at George Zimmerman’s address. In the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting last year, Lee tweeted what he thought was Zimmerman home address — but was actual the home of David and Elaine McClain. Lee apologized and gave the couple $10,000 but, according to the Smoking Gun, the McClains say they still get death threats and hate mail — and they’re asking Lee for an additional $15,000 in attorney fees and court costs. Lee was on Oprah’s Next Chapter over the weekend and said, “There’s nothing I can say that can defend that. It was stupid. S-T-O-O-P-I-D.”
