Last week, Chris Brown’s rep confirmed the R&B singer had left rehab  — now, it’s been revealed that Brown was actually kicked out of the treatment facility because he smashed his mother’s car window after a counseling session, AP reports.

The details surfaced late Wednesday when Brown was in Los Angeles court for a probation hearing, related to his 2009 beating of former girlfriend Rihanna. During the hearing, the judge read a letter from the rehab facility, which Brown had checked into shortly after his Oct. 27 arrest in Washington for allegedly punching a man outside the W Hotel. The rehab’s letter stated Brown and his mother both participated in a therapy session earlier this month; and after his mother said he should stay in rehab longer, Brown threw a rock through her car window. That violated a non-violence contract Brown had signed, and he was discharged from the treatment center.

After reading the facility’s report, the judge sentenced Brown to three more months of rehab for anger management, in addition to 24 hours of community labor per week, and drug testing. The judge also asked probation officers for more details about Brown’s arrest in D.C. — the singer is expected to be back in D.C. c0urt on Nov. 25; his charges were reduced to a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.

Depending how things go in D.C. court, Brown (who showed up in the L.A. courtroom with his girlfriend Karrueche Tran) could face a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. His next probation hearing is scheduled for Dec. 16.
