The downside of being rich and famous — all your secrets can be revealed, even when you’re not the one on trial. British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson was forced to share details of past drug use when she took the stand Wednesday in the U.K. to testify against her former assistants, Elisabetta and Francesca Grillo; her ex-husband, Charles Saatchi, sued them for racking up thousands of dollars on his credit cards. During her testimony, Lawson admitted she tried cocaine in the past, but denied being a habitual user, AP reports; she says her ex-husband (you remember their nasty, nasty split this summer) spread that rumor. The Grillos’ lawyers “suggested that Lawson ignored the Grillos’ lavish expenditures in return for their silence about her drug use.”
