Singer Susan Boyle revealed Sunday she’s been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism, AP reports. Boyle shot to fame in 2009 thanks to her now-famous audition on “Britain’s Got Talent,” where the judges scoffed at the 47-year-old — and then jaws dropped when she belted a stunning version of “I Dreamed a Dream.” Since then, she’s sold millions of albums, though she was briefly hospitalized that year for an “emotional breakdown.” The singer, now 52, says that it’s a relief to have a name for her condition, as she’s long struggled with learning and social abilities: “Now I have a clearer understanding of what’s wrong and I feel relieved and a bit more relaxed about myself.”
