A ‘Glee’ ending no longer in the cards

“Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy had planned to end the series with Finn Hudson, the character played by Cory Monteith, as a teacher in Ohio. Murphy related that ending at a memorial service this summer for Monteith, who died in July from a heroin and alcohol overdose. In his eulogy, which was published Tuesday by Entertainment Weekly, Murphy remembered Monteith as a “natural leader” and explained his vision for his show’s conclusion.”The ending of Glee is something I have never shared with anyone, but I always knew it,” he wrote. “Finn was going to have become a teacher, settled down happily in Ohio, at peace with his choice and no longer feeling like a Lima loser.”

Comedian apologizes for ‘unfortunate’ tweet

Actor Steve Martin offered “a deep, sincere, and humble apology,” to those who were offended by a tweet he sent last week. Are you in an African-American neighborhood or at an Italian restaurant?” The comedian posted the apology on his Web site Monday. “I am very upset that a tweet I sent out last week has been interpreted by some to be insulting to African Americans,” it said.He added: “Comedy is treacherous. I used to try out jokes in clubs and the audience’s feedback would tell me when I had crossed a line. . . . Today, the process is faster. It’s your brain, a button, then millions of reactions. But it’s my job to know.”
