After 21 years and three children together, Rep. Sean Maloney and his partner, Randy Florke, are planning to wed.

A Christmas Day proposal from Florke followed an adorable letter to Santa from the couple’s daughter, Essie, Buzzfeed reports. “Santa can you try making my wonder-ful fathers get married,” the little girl wrote. “They are a loving couple!”

The two plan to tie the knot in early summer, they told Buzzfeed.

The New York Democrat will be the second member of Congress, after Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), to legally wed a same-sex partner while in office.
