Ahead of their historic visit, Beatles hair was Washington scourge #TBT

Next week marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ visit to Washington. Back in 1964, in the weeks leading up the Fab Four’s famous sojourn, Beatlemania had taken hold — much to the chagrin of the city’s squares.

Among them were the barbers of Washington, who grudgingly clipped the locks of young men into what this caption describes as “a cross between the hair-do of a Yorkshire terrier and that worn by Moe Howard, one of TV’s Three Stooges.”
