Here’s what to expect:

Any minute: The guests begin to arrive. 

6:55 p.m.: President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama greet French President Francois Hollande at the North Portico of the White House.

7:30 p.m.: The first couple and their guest of honor pose for photos on the grand staircase.

8:55 p.m.: President Obama and his French counterpart will each give a toast.
