For Throwback Thursday, we dig back into the Post archives from 20 years ago this week. Funny how some things have changed (what leading man would wear “sweats” in public?) and some haven’t (Clyde’s is still kicking), since this item from the Post’s March 18, 1994 Names and Faces column:
“A sweats-clad Michael Keaton and steady girlfriend Courteney Cox turned heads at Clyde’s of Georgetown late Thursday afternoon when they dropped by for a quick Saint Pat’s Day drink before rushing off to dress for dinner at the White House. Keaton, whose new flick, ‘The Paper,’ opens here next week, and Cox were guests at President Clinton’s dinner for Irish Prime Minister Albert Reynolds …”
One thing that certainly has changed is this Cox and Keaton’s status as an item: they broke up the following year, and Cox later married — and divorced — actor David Arquette.
