“And of course, the legend. The only man to play for all three championship teams. The biggest bat in the dugout. Big Papi. Big Papi. That’s what I’m taking about. Love this guy. Even a White Sox fan can appreciate these guys.”

–President Obama on Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz who visited the White House on Tuesday with his fellow teammates to celebrate their 2013 World Series win. Obama is known to be an avid Chicago White Sox fan, but that didn’t stop him from raving about the Red Sox star, who then asked to take a selfie with the president.

“Actually do you mind if I take my own?”

“Got ’em.”

–David Ortiz after he took this selfie with President Obama. The Red Sox star — popularly known as Big Papi — was into the White House selfies. He also took one with his teammates, making his own attempt at one-upping the Ellen Oscars selfie.
