President Obama, Steven Spielberg and Bruce Springsteen hang out in L.A.

Hey isn’t that … President Obama sharing one of those awkward one-armed hugs with director Steven Spielberg in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Obama, who’s on a three-day fundraising blitz in La La land, accepted the Ambassador of Humanity Award from Spielberg at the USC Shoah Foundation’s annual gala.

Apparently the president didn’t get his fill of Hollywood types at last weekend’s White House correspondents’ dinner in Washington. Before the Shoah gala, which raises funds for the foundation’s mission to collect video testimony from Holocaust survivors, the president attended a  $64,800-a-couple fundraiser in Bel Air for about 90 guests, including Barbra Streisand, according to Deadline.

From their seats at the head table, the president, Spielberg and Bruce Springsteen were regaled by the night’s host, comedian Conan O’Brien, who joked that the foundation  had been “recording evidence of intolerance long before Donald Sterling’s girlfriend.”
