That time Nancy Pelosi met Cookie Monster

We knew House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Cookie Monster had one thing in common: a sweet tooth. Turns out Pelosi, a confessed choco-holic, and the pastry-munching Muppet also share a hunger to do nice things for wounded troops.

The two met on Capitol Hill Wednesday, where the USO sponsored an event to assemble 1,500 care packages for wounded and sick service members.  Dozens of members of Congress, including Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) (who is herself a double -amputee who served in the Iraq war) pitched in to fill the packs with personal-care items that injured military folks need — but, alas, no cookies.
