In the wee hours on Wednesday morning members of the legislative, executive and judicial branches decided to work up a sweat before working together (we hope). At the 33rd annual ACLI Capital Challenge 3-miler teams with wacky names like “Redacted” (the CIA’s team, obvs) and “Carbon Foot Prints” (the joggers at Environment & Energy Publishing) raced to the finish line at Anacostia Park in southeast Washington to earn cash for Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, a charity the provides German shepherd guide dogs for the blind.

This year’s big winners? Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Sen. Kay Hagan (D- N.C.) were the fastest male and female senators, while Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) were the fastest congressman and congresswoman. The fastest team overall was the U.S. Coast Guard, naturally. The best team name? The Census Bureau’s “No Census Running When Jogging Allowed.” The worst? WUSA-TV’s “WUSA-News Your Daddy.”
