Hey, isn’t that… former D.C. mayor Adrian Fenty, in the stands at the French Open on Sunday in Paris?

Seems that even though he’s left Washington for the West Coast, he’s still rooting for the home team: Our colleague, sports writer Liz Clarke, spotted the onetime top city official cheering Prince George’s native Francis Tiafoe‘s first-round victory in the junior-level tournament.

Fenty, sporting his signature newsboy cap, was sitting with Laurene Powell Jobs, the billionaire widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, whom we reported last year he was dating.

As he filed out of the court, Fenty told Clarke that his teenage twin sons have played with Tiafoe, whom he called a “great kid,” at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Md.

“What we knew about the JTCC when we first started there is that it’s one of the top programs in the country,” he said. “It’s unusual to have that level of tennis in the Washington area, but it does show that kids from anywhere can be great tennis players.”
