Apparently Katy Perry, the woman who made blue hair and cupcake bras a thing (or did she?), is extremely “political.” At last night’s Washington stop on her Candy Land of a concert, Perry took a break from shooting glitter from her eyeballs to address just what’s right with this country, reports our colleague Emily Yahr.

“You know what’s so great about America?” Perry asked the crowd of kiddies and KatyCats. “Any one of you can be president now.” Another thing that’s great about America? The fact that Perry is on Instagram.

1. She managed to do that photo trick where you make something huge, i.e. the Washington Monument (the “awe-inspiring reminder of George Washington’s greatness”), look small and insignificant in her pink pony-tailed wake. In this picture Perry is basically telling the world that she’s bigger than democracy.

2. In an us-ie with Vice President Biden at the White House, Perry calls the second in command a “Q-T” which is Internet for “this is kind of inappropriate, but what the hey!”

3. Once again making a towering figure in the American political zeitgeist look short by comparison, in a photo with former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, Perry, who’s a good foot taller, offers to rewrite “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Okay not really. But what other “theme” song would Hillary need?
