This past Thursday night was the night to be seen in Washington. The VIP crowd was out in full force commemorating the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics and the country’s post-World Cup favorite sport: soccer.

Katy Perry stunned in a royal blue gown as she performed her hit “Roar” for the Obamas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Andy Roddick and Maria Shriver to name just a few stars in attendance at the White House’s Special Olympics gala.

Across town, soccer club Inter Milan found some time to let loose, after a loss a few nights earlier to Manchester United at FedExField. The squad spent most of the night snapping selfie after selfie with fans and perusing the clothes.

Here’s an inside look at both parties.

An anniversary gala for the Special Olympics drew a slew of stars and athletes to the White House last week. Meanwhile across town, Inter Milan partied and shopped at a private reception for the soccer team at Brooks Brothers in Georgetown. These are the parties you missed.
