Hey isn’t that… the entire first family (plus Auntie Valerie) wrapping up the three-day U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit with dinner at Fiola Mare on Wednesday night?

A tipster tells the Reliable Source that President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, first daughters Malia and Sasha, and White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett all dined at the Georgetown Italian eatery that’s quickly becoming the place to see and be seen (old stalwart Cafe Milano cannot be pleased).

On Monday there were whispers that President Obama, newly 53, was spending his birthday at Fiola Mare (as rocker Steve Tyler did in March), but the president’s press shop quickly shot those rumors down. (The heavy Secret Service presence that night was for a series of dinners with visiting diplomats and administration officials around town.)

We heard that the White House kitchen was extra busy earlier this week–and not just because of Tuesday night’s African leaders dinner. The president’s birthday celebration (the details of which have been kept top secret) was obviously a big priority.

On Wednesday when the Obamas returned to the White House after their two-hour outing, a pool reporter asked about the president’s meal. Obama responded, “It was good.” Not the most enthusiastic endorsement, but we’re sure Fiola Mare is ecstatic.
