One weekend, three weddings
In Miami on Saturday, actress Gabrielle Union, 41, married the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, 32. The “Being Mary Jane” star didn’t keep the nuptials a secret going into the weekend and tagged all of her Instagram pictures from the festivities with the hashtag #thewadeunion. Wade proposed to Union last December after being together for more than five years. This is the second marriage for both.
Singer-songwriter Ashlee Simpson, 29, wed Diana Ross’s son Evan Ross, 26, at the Supreme’s Greenwich, Conn. estate on Sunday night, according to E! News. The Motown legend officiated at the ceremony and also performed. The bride’s sister, Jessica Simpson, served as maid of honor and her 5-year-old son Bronx walked her down the aisle. The couple has been linked since last summer and announced their engagement in January.
Rounding out the weekend is Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg’s wedding in Chicago on Sunday. The former “The View” co-host, 41, announced her engagement to the former New Kids on the Block member, 45, on the ABC talk show in April.
Taylor Swift joins ‘The Voice’
Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani aren’t the singing competition’s only new additions for Season 7. According to Us Weekly, Taylor Swift will come onto the show for one episode to serve as an adviser for the hopeful contestants. For those familiar with the show, the 24-year-old “Shake It Off” singer will have a short-term role similar to the one that Coldplay’s Chris Martin took on last season and advise contestants across all four teams as opposed to focusing on just one judge’s group of singers.
Swift is joining previously announced guests Stevie Wonder (who is working with veteran judge Adam Levine), Gavin Rossdale (who’s linked up with his wife Stefani, obviously), Little Big Town (Blake Shelton‘s go-to) and Alicia Keys (Pharrell’s main adviser). “The Voice” will return for Season 7 on Sept. 22.
