Actress Piper Perabo, whose spy drama “Covert Affairs” just got the axe after five seasons on the USA network, was spotted all over the District on Wednesday.

While the timing of Perabo’s visit doesn’t quite rise to the level of strange plot twist, it was hardly ideal. The actress spoke at a summit on raising wages the day after news of her show’s cancellation hit the Web. Perabo, who you may remember as the star of 2000’s “Coyote Ugly,” is a member of SAG-AFTRA, the merged Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists union.

After speaking at a panel about workers’ rights, Perabo headed to the Hill Wednesday afternoon to chat more about issues. At around 8 p.m. the actress was spotted having dinner with two friends at Bibiana (fellow fake spy Claire Danes has also dined there). Our tipster says Perabo ditched her Capitol conservative suit for a black Cavalli leather skirt.
