Another lawmaker has drawn the ire of the ever-provocative Miley Cyrus. A week ago, Cyrus waded into the latest gay-rights controversy, calling Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) an “a——,” and Thursday she turned her attention to freshman Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), commanding her Smilers to “stir some s— up!”

Cyrus helpfully tweeted the number to Cotton’s Capitol Hill office:

So what has the pop star-turned-gay-rights-champion all fired up?

On CNN Wednesday, when Wolf Blitzer asked Cotton’s take on controversial “religious freedom” measures in Indiana and Arkansas, which critics have called discriminatory, Cotton responded

that LGBT Americans should have “a sense of perspective” about national priorities. “In Iran they hang you for the crime of being gay,” he added.

Cyrus, who has been outspoken about her disapproval of Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act on Instagram, may be having an impact. A call to Cotton’s Senate office yielded this message: “mailbox is full. Please call again later.” And calls to his Arkansas offices in Little Rock and Springdale were unanswered.
