Hey isn’t that… CNN president Jeff Zucker toasting his new Sunday show host, Jake Tapper, on Sunday night at the Palm?

Tapper, who took over “State of the Union” after CNN vet Candy Crowley left the network after three decades, wrapped his first show as anchor on Sunday morning. Zucker, Washington bureau chief Sam Feist, Tapper’s agent Jay Sures, who threw the whole shindig together, plus the show’s crew were all on hand at the Washington power spot to support the network’s new marquee player.

Our spy says there was plenty of cake (featuring the show’s logo), Cabernet, and the resto’s signature crab cakes. But no word on whether Tapper, a former Roll Call political cartoonist, sketched on napkins as a party trick.
