Where were all your favorite local anchorwomen last night? Dressed up all in pink at the 7th annual “NewsBash for Breast Cancer,” the yearly bash where some of the District’s biggest names behind the news desk raise money for organizations that fight breast cancer. This year, though, the group decided to ditch the “babe” formerly prominent in its name title. Too… retro perhaps? Especially considering all the money and power in the room. Babes, some thought, skewed a little Betty Draper or even Barbie-ish. But Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) didn’t seem think so. “Personally, I kinda dig the NewsBabes monicker. I thought it was kinda hip,” said the congresswoman.
