Rielle Hunter, the woman who had a daughter with Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards during his 2008 campaign, says the status of her on-again-off-again relationship with Edwards is now set at “over.”

“We still love each other, but we’re not together,” she told TV host Steve Harvey, who had her on as a “where-are-they-now” guest during his Valentine’s-themed “Love Week.”

The couple’s romantic relationship ended in February 2015, she said, though the former senator is a “great dad” to 7-year-old daughter Frances Quinn.

In a 2012 memoir titled “What Really Happened,” Hunter indicated that things weren’t over between the two, who began their affair while Edwards was married to the late Elizabeth Edwards.

“I really have absolutely no idea what will happen with us,” Hunter wrote. “Our combined love, the mysterious unpredictable force that exists between Johnny and me … it is not to be underestimated.”

Hunter told Harvey that Edwards knew she was doing the interview. “Of course,” she said. “He loves you.”
