Remember that “Reagan” script we told you about a while ago? Well, it’s definitely a comedy.
Actor Will Ferrell, best known for his comedic turns in “Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights” and “Zoolander,” will play GOP fan boy favorite President Ronald Reagan in a comedy about the commander in chief’s struggles with dementia. Exactly.
‘Reagan’ script is a front-runner in this year’s annual Black List
“Reagan” was one of the most talked-about scripts included in last year’s “The Black List,” a yearly catalogue of the most liked unproduced screenplays in Hollywood. Ferrell, according to Variety, has signed on to not only star in the movie, but also produce the project through his company, Gary Sanchez Productions.
Ferrell, who looks precisely nothing like Ronald Reagan, is practiced at the fine art of playing a president. His quipping and cowboying George W. Bush was so popular on “Saturday Night Live” that he took the Dubya show on the road, spouting Bushisms in the Broadway play “You’re Welcome America.”
