The wattage of the celebrities at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next month isn’t expected to be quite as bright as those at the Democrats’ confab in Philadelphia — but here’s one bright light: Country singer Martina McBride is headlining a concert put on by the Creative Coalition.

The hit-maker will perform at the arts advocacy group’s July 20 benefit show and party at a to-be-announced venue, just one of the dozens of events that crop up around the official convention business (hey, delegates like to cut loose, too). Pop star Fergie is the big name for the Creative Coalition’s concert in Philly.
