What’s in President Obama’s beach bag?

Somewhere between the bug spray and the nuclear football, it seems there’s bound to be a book. The White House on Friday released the annual list of books that Obama is reading this summer, and the eclectic list includes both highbrow memoirs and bestselling fiction that’s already been turned into a movie.

Here’s what’s keeping the reader-in-chief entertained (in between rounds of golf) while he’s on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard:

“Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life” by William Finnegan

“The Underground Railroad” by Colson Whitehead

“H Is for Hawk” by Helen Macdonald

“The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins

“Seveneves” by Neal Stephenson
