The 13,000-square-foot home on Whitehaven Street might be a bit modest by Saudi standards (the ambassador’s official residence is a colossal McLean mansion on the Potomac), but that didn’t stop a “minister within the Saudi government” from snapping up the Georgian last month for $10.4 million.

Size aside, the home on Whitehaven has something else going for it. The address is just a hop, skip and a jump from Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Washington home, also on Whitehaven. It’s also less than a mile from the Obamas’ alleged post-White House rental in Kalorama. With neighbors like these, who needs networking.

According to William Moody of Washington Fine Properties, the Whitehaven home was sold in a private sale between Wayne Berman, a Republican lobbyist, and an LLC. Moody also sold Berman his new home, “The Lindens.

The five-bedroom Georgian has another connection to the White House. It was designed by Nathan Wyeth, the famous architect who designed the West Wing.
