President-elect Donald Trump is getting acquainted with the traditions of the presidency, and he’s doing okay by one of them: the diplomatic gift exchange.

It’s long-established custom for world leaders to give each other presents, and when Trump met last week with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, he scored. While news reports at the time said Abe had presented Trump with a new club, leave it to Golf Digest to get the specs. The publication says it’s a “Honma Beres S-05 with 9.5 degrees of loft with a 5S Armrq Infinity stiff shaft.” Translation: a super-fancy golf driver worth almost four grand.

Trump, according to some reports, offered Abe a golf shirt. Both men are avid golfers, and Abe’s grandfather once played with President Dwight Eisenhower.

Even more thoughtfully, the Japanese visitor carefully selected a color scheme his host was sure to love. “The driver, which sells for $3,755, comes in either a black- or gold-colored head,” Golf Digest reports. “Fittingly, given Mr. Trump’s penchant for adorning rooms in gilded gold, the Prime Minister opted for the latter.”
