President-elect Donald Trump is getting acquainted with the traditions of the presidency, and he’s doing okay by one of them: the diplomatic gift exchange.
Trump, according to some reports, offered Abe a golf shirt. Both men are avid golfers, and Abe’s grandfather once played with President Dwight Eisenhower.
Even more thoughtfully, the Japanese visitor carefully selected a color scheme his host was sure to love. “The driver, which sells for $3,755, comes in either a black- or gold-colored head,” Golf Digest reports. “Fittingly, given Mr. Trump’s penchant for adorning rooms in gilded gold, the Prime Minister opted for the latter.”
