It’s still unclear what roles future first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, will play in a Donald Trump administration, but they’re already scoping out what life might be like in Washington in preparation for a possible move from Manhattan.

According to a person with knowledge of the visit, the couple were on a kicking-the-tires tour the weekend before last that included a stop at the George Town Club on Sunday.  The private club, located in a former 18th century Georgetown tavern, is one of the tony neighborhood’s genteel amenities, with elegantly furnished dining rooms and social activities.

It’s unclear if the glamorous young couple are considering joining (they would need an invitation to do so, though that likely wouldn’t be a problem) or if they were just taking a break: The Independent Journal Review reports they were checking out nearby rental homes within walking distance of Kesher Israel, the Orthodox synagogue at the corner of 28th and N Streets where they “likely … will attend services.”

Unsurprisingly, club officials were mum. “Our members and guests are treated with the utmost confidentiality and we respectfully decline all media inquiries,” a rep told us in an email.
