Hey, isn’t that … a bunch of A-listers in the audience at Washington National Opera’s premiere of “Champion” on Saturday night?

The crowd gathered at the Kennedy Center for the East Coast debut of the opera about a closeted gay boxer included singer Esperanza Spalding; “NCIS: New Orleans” actress CCH Pounder; soprano Renée Fleming; film director Kasi Lemmons and husband “Daredevil” actor Vondie Curtis-Hall; “True Detective” actress Lolita Davidovich and her husband, screenwriter Ron Shelton; former MSNBC-er Melissa Harris-Perry, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Ginsburg, an operaphile, was looking hale and hearty, folks (doubtless reassuring to those who’ve taken a sudden interest in the health of the liberal SCOTUS justice.)
