Hey, isn’t that … John Krasinski, best known for playing that nice guy in “The Office,” filming scenes in Washington on Wednesday for his upcoming TV series featuring Jack Ryan, the CIA-agent hero of Tom Clancy novels?

The actor posted an Instagram picture of himself out for a row on the Potomac against a dramatic sky. “Early morning (pretend) workout,” he captioned it.

The actor apparently got an assist on the water from some ringers. Former Olympian-turned-rowing-coach Esther Lofgren posted a picture of herself with Krasinski and several others at the Potomac Boat Club (note that the actor is sporting a Boston College rowing T-shirt, a costume suggesting Jack Ryan’s background as a graduate of the New England institution).

“Awesome morning filming with @johnkrasinski @amazonstudios!” she wrote.

Later, the actor turned up in Georgetown, where he shot a bike-riding scene.

The show, which Amazon is distributing (routine disclosure: Amazon.com owner Jeffrey P. Bezos owns The Washington Post), features Jack Ryan in his younger days as a CIA analyst.
