Hey, isn’t that … Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg taking in tenor Plácido Domingo’s performance in Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” at the Metropolitan Opera in New York on Monday night? Ginsburg, a well-known opera fan, was spotted beforehand dining with a group of friends at the venue’s Grand Tier Restaurant.

And it seems the land’s highest court was in a New York state of mind this week — the same spy who saw RBG on the town also caught Justice Samuel Alito with his wife taking the Acela on Wednesday from New York to Washington. Alito, who had judged a moot court competition at Fordham University on Sunday, was shadowed by his security folks — but schlepped his own bag! — and the party swept into a private room in the Acela lounge in Penn Station before hopping the train, we’re told.
