Hoyas edge Terps to reach NCAA final

An epic evening of soccer in Hoover as Georgetown defeated Maryland on penalty kicks, 4-3, following an astonishing 4-4 draw.

My match report attempts to capture the drama and serves up a few postgame comments.

Indiana edged Creighton, 1-0, in the second semifinal at Regions Park.

So the NCAA championship match is set:

Georgetown vs. Indiana on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on ESPNU

The Hoyas had never ventured past the round of 16 until this year. The Hoosiers are seven-time national champions.
