*A Toronto FC spokesman says “there are no plans for additions to our coaching staff. Speculating on Pat Onstad becoming an assistant coach is misleading.”

The Insider reported Tuesday that Onstad had stepped down as D.C. United’s goalkeepers coach after two years and was lined up for a job with TFC. United would receive financial compensation in exchange for letting Onstad out of his contract.

*The New York Cosmos have an ambitious plan to build a 25,000-seat stadium at Belmont Park, a project that would improve its chances of landing an MLS expansion team. MLS, meantime, is working on its own proposal to add a second club in the New York area.

*The National Women’s Soccer League today will announce the selection order for Friday’s college draft in Indianapolis. The Washington Spirit is expected to have one of the top picks, compensation for not receiving any U.S. Olympic gold medalists in last week’s allocation process. The Spirit is looking for attacking players. The Hermann Trophy finalists who are in their senior years have Washington area ties: Virginia forward Caroline Miller (Walter Johnson High School; Rockville, Md.) and Penn State midfielder Christine Nairn (Spalding HS; Arnold, Md.)

UPDATE: Here’s a link to the draft order.

*The kickoff time for the U.S. World Cup qualifier at Mexico City on March 26 is set, according to CONCACAF: 8:30 p.m. at Azteca, 10:30 on the East Coast. The Mexico game is the one away qualifier in which TV rights are not controlled by beIN Sport. The ESPN family and a Spanish outlet are expected to carry the match.

*Americans abroad:

In another comeback from injury, midfielder Stuart Holden went 16 minutes in Bolton’s 2-0 FA Cup victory at Sunderland. Defender Tim Ream was in the 18 but didn’t play.

Defender Geoff Cameron went 120 minutes in Stoke City’s 4-1 cup victory over Crystal Palace.

Today, midfielder Sebastian Lletget, 20, is in West Ham’s 18 at Manchester United (3 p.m. ET, Fox Soccer) and, three days after a league defeat at Barcelona, defender Oguchi Onyewu and Malaga are at the Catalan titans in Copa del Rey (3:30, beIN Sport, beIN Sport Spanish).

In Belgium, midfielder Sacha Kljestan is starting for Anderlecht against Gent in a cup match. (Andy Najar, on loan from D.C. United, is not on the game-day roster.)

*Georgetown University’s soccer teams practice and play on a pretty humble piece of land on campus — substandard for programs on the rise nationally. But now comes word that $1 million of a $5 million athletic donation is earmarked for a facility upgrade. The venue will be renamed Shaw Field.
