Paris Saint-Germain scored the equalizer in the waning moments of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinals to salvage a 2-2 draw at home against Barcelona, which lost superstar Lionel Messi to a hamstring injury. Messi scored in the 38th minute for a 1-0 lead but departed at halftime. He will be evaluated Wednesday, the club announced.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic tied the match in the 79th minute and Xavi Hernandez‘s penalty kick regained the lead for Barcelona in the 90th. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, however, Ibrahimovic assisted on Blaise Matuidi‘s goal. The second leg is next Wednesday in Barcelona.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go there and get a result,” said PSG midfielder David Beckham, who played 70 minutes.

In Tuesday’s other match, Bayern Munich defeated visiting Juventus, 2-0. David Alaba scored 25 seconds into the match.
