Georgetown, a surprise NCAA finalist last season, will open the 2013 season on the West Coast before playing eight of nine matches on campus. The schedule, released Tuesday, will begin with matches at California and Stanford on Labor Day weekend and shift to North Kehoe Field on Sept. 6 against West Virginia. The Hoyas were 19-3-3 last year and defeated Maryland on penalty kicks in the semifinals before falling to Indiana in the national championship game. This season they will play three teams among the top 16 seeds in the 2012 NCAA tournament: New Mexico, Creighton and Marquette. Striker Brandon Allen and forward Steve Neumann, two of the nation’s best players, are set to return for Coach Brian Wiese.
