Kickoff: 10 p.m. ET.

D.C. area TV: Comcast SportsNet (announcers in Bethesda studio).

Referee: Allen Chapman.

United has scored one goal in seven away matches and eight in 17 regular season outings; the Sounders have tallied 11 in the past three games at CenturyLink Field.

Dejan Jakovic (adductor) will miss a seventh consecutive league match. Bill Hamid is away on U.S. national team duty before the CONCACAF Gold Cup, an absence that pushes Joe Willis to the top of the depth chart. New acquisition Jared Jeffrey will not join the club until next week.

Many names — big and small — have been linked with United ahead of the transfer window, which will open next Tuesday. It’s the silly season, though, and most “negotiations” are agents promoting their clients through the media. The latest gossip involved a pair of Guatemalan defenders and a German defender. United does plan to invite additional trialists in the coming weeks, adding to a list of hopefuls that began to mount in May. Defender O’Brian Woodbine, from Jamaica’s national team, has come and gone but remains a signing possibility down the road.

As for Diego Forlan, the Uruguayan superstar who has whet the appetite of desperate DCU supporters, I hear if he ends up in MLS this summer, Toronto FC is primed to sign him. Stay tuned for more details on this developing angle…..
