On Sunday night in Vancouver, this happened:

The scorer: Camilo Sanvezzo, the Whitecaps’ 25-year-old striker from Brazil. The stupendous strike capped a dizzying stretch of three goals in 2 minutes 22 seconds and left Vancouver and Portland level at 2-2. Camilo (he goes by one name) also scored his club’s first goal. He is tied for second on the MLS scoring charts with 18, one behind Montreal’s Marco Di Vaio with three weeks left in the regular season. Before joining the Whitecaps in 2011, Camilo played in Brazil, Malta and South Korea, of all places. He has five multi-goal matches this year.
