Argentina’s Angel Di Maria may try unproven medical treatment to play in World Cup final

With the World Cup consolation game in the books with the Netherlands mercilessly beating host Brazil, 3-0, all attention now shifts to Sunday’s final between Argentina and Germany.

Focus will specifically rest on Argentina’s ability to perform at a high level after Angel Di Maria injured his thigh muscle in the team’s quarterfinal win against Belgium. The world saw how Brazil collapsed following the loss of star Neymar to injury in the quarterfinals and according to some reports, Di Maria may be taking this to heart.

Reportedly, the Argentine may try an unproven form of stem cell treatment to help heal his injury and have him out on the pitch for Sunday’s final.
