Pass rusher Noah Spence took a roundabout route to the NFL. But he arrived there Friday night, being selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early in the draft’s second round.

The Buccaneers chose Spence with the round’s eighth pick, the 39th overall choice in the draft.

Spence was regarded as one of the top pass rushers in his draft class. But there were off-field issues for NFL teams to contemplate after he finished his college career at Eastern Kentucky, being forced to leave Ohio State following two failed drug tests.
