A lot has been said about the Millennial generation (those roughly ages 18- 33) — almost as much as has been said about Generation X (those between 34-49). For every criticism of the Millennial era of shown in things like “Girls,” there’s been just as much flack thrown at the “Reality Bites” generation.
What’s striking is just how much of that talk – about Millennials and Gen-Xers – sounds exactly the same.
Both generations have faced a tough economy in their younger years, both have been defined by “the Internet” (scare quotes employed here in the sarcastic, cynical style common to Gen Xers like this author). And both have endured a lot of predictions from their elders that haven’t necessarily come to pass.
