And the first publication to get Solange’s reaction to the Jay Z elevator fight is…Lucky magazine. Literally.

Predictably, the singer played down the video that went super-viral earlier this year thanks to TMZ. The now infamous clip captured elevator footage of Solange attacking her brother-in-law, Jay Z, while her sister, Beyonce, calmly stood by and adjusted her dress. The fight took place at the Standard Hotel after the Met Gala in New York City, and theories about what sparked the argument between the notoriously private A-list family are long and varied.

In Lucky’s August cover story about Solange, which focused on the singer in her New Orleans neighborhood, the fight gets approximately one paragraph. “It’s a subject she expects in conversation but one she doesn’t want to focus on,” the writer explains.

Solange calls what happened “that thing” and offers this quote: “What’s important is that my family and I are all good. What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that.”

“The statement” is the two paragraphs offered by Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange to the Associated Press in the wake of the video, which included in part: “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

So now, all the statements have been made; the person responsible for leaking the video was fired; and it’s been mocked mercilessly in the pop culture-sphere ever since, including nearly every award show since the incident. Think this story can finally be put to rest?

Yeah, probably not.
