Terps baseball wraps up fall season with annual Fall World Series

Aching for some baseball before Maryland’s Homecoming football game against North Carolina State on Saturday? The Terps have you covered.

Maryland’s Fall World Series, a best-of-three series, kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium. Game Two is Sunday at 4:15 p.m., while the “if necessary” Game Three will be on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Senior Jimmy Reed, an MLB prospect who led the team with a 2.70 ERA in 2012, will oppose sophomore Zach Morris in the opening slate. Morris is a transfer from Cincinnati who in 2012 led the Bearcats in ERA and was a finalist for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Freshman Team.

Games are free and open to the public. It will be a full day of Terps action across the board. The basketball team is hosting an open scrimmage at 1:30 p.m. before the 3:30 kickoff at Byrd Stadium.
