Stefon Diggs finishes second in ACC rookie of the year voting

Maryland freshman wide receiver Stefon Diggs finished second in voting for ACC rookie of the year, the league announced Tuesday, receiving 11 out of 46 votes in a poll of ACC media members.

Miami running back Duke Johnson received 34 votes to win the award. Johnson (35 votes) also was named the ACC’s offensive rookie of the year. Diggs also finished second in that race, with 10 votes.

Johnson’s numbers: 957 rushing yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, 27 catches for 221 yards, 1 receiving touchdown, 2,070 all-purpose yards, 33 yards per kickoff return (fourth nationally), two kickoff return touchdowns.

Diggs’s numbers: 54 catches for 848 yards, 6 receiving touchdowns, 20 rushes for 114 yards, 1,896 all-purpose yards, 10 yards per punt return (30th nationally), 28.52 yards per kickoff return (13th nationally), two kickoff return touchdowns.
